Johan Malmgren
Johan emerged onto the scene back in 2009 with his first single ‘Primitus’. When Ferry Corsten heard this he immediately signed it to his Flashover Recordings label. Supported by all the usual suspects, Johan went on to create tracks including ‘The Right Chords’ and ‘Be Yourself’ over on Marcus Schossow’s label in 2010. Schossow hailed Johan as being one of the most promising trance talents he’d heard in ages. We tend to agree!
In 2011, Johan caught the attention of Anjunabeats with his remix of Nitrous Oxide ft Aneym ‘Follow You’. Johan finished off the year winning a remix competition of the classic Thrillseekers track ‘The Last Time’. His mix was voted as Web Vote Winner on Above & Beyond’s Trance Around The World.
Canadian DJ and producer Max Graham signed Johan to his Re*Brand Records label in early 2012 and asked Johan to remix his co-production with Susana ‘Down To Nothing’. An EP followed shortly afterwards with the tracks 'Come Back' and 'Find You' which were both widely supported by the trance elite.
With Johan’s fresh and distinctive style it’s hard to imagine he’ll be anywhere far from the top of the trance scene in the coming years.
